Just a Dab Will Do You

When using glitter and sparkle, it’s all about moderation. Picking one accessory or piece of clothing as a focal point is the modern way to do it. Overdoing the sparkle when you’re over 40 usually looks tacky. |
Stay Away From Sparkles on Your Butt.

Sparkles back there can look cute on a teenager, but let’s face it, they draw instant attention to your hips and butt-which by middle age is usually a little bigger or bonier than you’d like. After 40, it’s more flattering to keep the shine up by your face. One exception to wearing sparkles below the waist is the all-over metallic skirt, which can look very sleek and may help camouflage problem areas. |
Don’t Take Sparkle (too) Seriously

This fall’s “sparkle and shine” is showing up on casual clothes, too! We’re seeing t-shirts with sequins on strategic and unusual spots, such as a sprinkle on a shoulder, or up one arm. Pair a sparkly top with some straight leg jeans and heels. |
Add Metallic Accessories |

More conservative? Don’t think you can wear sequins? This season’s eye-catching gold, silver, or bronze shoes and bags are as versatile as black and much more interesting. Don’t forget to polish things up with costume jewelry, too! Metallics–the new “neutrals,” will work with anything in your wardrobe! The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is a touch of Glam! |
